How to Apply Visual Effects to Your Video

To apply a blur or virtual background to your video, before you start recording your video, select the 3-star icon on the left of your screen.

Here you will find the different blur options and a variety of virtual backgrounds to choose from. There is also an icon for you to upload your own image to set as a background.

1. Blurring Your Background

There are three blurring options, Small, Medium and Extreme. You will be able to preview the blur in the background of the pop-up.

This screenshot is of the Extreme blur.

2. Adding a Virtual Background

There are 12 virtual background available to you and you can select which one you'd like to use by selecting it. You will be able to preview the virtual background in the background of the pop-up while you are selecting one.

3. Adding Your Own Virtual Background

There are a number of reasons you might want to add your own virtual background, these include:

  • Uniformity - Every video that is created has the identical background.

  • Branding - Adding your company branding into your background.

  • Themed videos - Creating a theme in the background of your videos, for eg: the details or image of a launch of a product, a specific holiday theme, or even a background to truly personalize the video.

  • Videos must be in a .jpg or .png format.

To add your own background, simply go to Upload and choose the background you wish to use. Below is an example of a holiday background for the festive season.

4. Removing Your Background

Your blurred or virtual background will remain as your default unless you remove it. To remove your background, go to the 3-star icon on the left of your screen and remove all effects.
