How to Add Buttons and Links to My Videos
How to Add Buttons and Links to My Videos
Updated over a week ago

StoryPrompt allows you to embed buttons directly onto your prompt and make your video interactive. Buttons can include links to websites and calendar links so clients can book a meeting directly with you.

We have done this on our StoryPrompt website. This way people can watch a video of me asking if they need any help getting started and they can book a meeting directly from the StoryPrompt.

To add buttons or links to your prompt, go to Let's make this personal.

Add in a name, a short prompt and text overlay, go to Select call to action and select + Custom button

Here you will see different options under Type, please note you will need to add label text to the buttons.

  • Record reply - This button allows the respondent to record a video reply.

  • Write reply - This button allows the respond to write a text reply.

  • Link - This is where you can add a URL for the respondent to click on the button and be redirected to a specific URL.

  • Calendar - This is where you can link to your calendar so the respondent can book a meeting with you.

  • Next step - This button allows the respondent to view a video before being asked to reply. For example if you add a welcome video to your StoryPrompt and you want them to click when they are ready to begin the process. Please see this article for more information on how you can add a welcome video.

  • End - This button completes the process of responding to your prompts. For example, if you end your prompts with a video and then ask the respondent to click on a button to end the process.

Please note Next step and End are completely optional buttons, even without the End button if the respondent completes the process of replying to your prompts, they will still be able to submit their replies.

In this example above you can see that I have added in the buttons for a Link, Calendar and Record reply. So this allows the respondent to be able to click on the link to view a webpage about my team, book a meeting in my calendar, or record a video reply.

When I share the link to my StoryPrompt, this is how the multiple buttons will look.
