How to Request a Testimonial Using Video
Updated over a week ago

The steps below will explain how to request a testimonial using a video. Recording your questions (or StoryPrompts) using video, results in the respondent being more relaxed and comfortable recording their reply. And the results are more trustworthy and authentic.

To get started with StoryPrompt, go to Build a new Prompt.

Afterwards, to create a video StoryPrompt, go to Record your video.

When you are ready to begin recording, click on the red circle and after the countdown begin talking.

When you are done, click the red circle or the space bar to end recording your video.

Once you have recorded add the following settings.

  1. Give your StoryPrompt a name - This is just to remind you which StoryPrompt you have created.

  2. Write a short prompt - This is a short version of your prompt (or question) that will be used in your final video as a title screen.

  3. Ask a question - This is the text prompt you create.

  4. Select call to action - Here you can choose between Record your reply and Custom button. Record your reply means allows your respondent to send you a video reply and custom button allows you to add a button onto the prompt, for eg to a calendar link. See custom links for more information.

  5. Allow respondents to submit text replies - You can select this if you like. If selected, respondents will have the option whether to reply with text or video, or both.

  6. Maximum duration of responses - This allows you to add a time limit onto their responses. These range from 30 seconds to unlimited and differ per StoryPrompt plan.

  7. Add video - Allows you to retake your video.
