My Browser Is Unable to Access My Camera
My Browser Is Unable to Access My Camera
Updated over 7 months ago

In order to record videos from your browser, we need permission from you to do so. In most cases, your browser will automatically prompt you to grant permission, but if not, you may see a message similar to:

"Oh snap! Your browser was unable to access your camera."

If your browser did not prompt you for these permissions, try these steps:

  1. Check if your browser has blocked pop-ups. If so, you may not see the pop-up window to grant camera and microphone permissions.

  2. You can either unblock pop-ups to see it, or click the lock icon to the left of the website url and set both camera and microphone permissions to Allow.

  3. Make sure your browser is up to date. If you're not using the latest version, updating your browser can often resolve this issue.

  4. Turn off browser extensions. There is a chance that some of them may be accessing your camera and microphone, preventing them from being used within Storyprompt.

  5. Close other applications that may be using your camera. If you have another application open that is currently using your camera or microphone, it can result in a conflict, preventing it from being usable in Storyprompt.

Lastly, if none of the above options resolve the issue and restarting your computer doesn't help, please try a different browser. If you're still unable to grant camera and mic permissions, please contact us and let us know what options you've tried.
